Global money movement in a MACH era

In a digital world, payments have grown into a tool for innovation, revenue growth, and business transformation.

Stripe has evolved from a payment solution to a complete financial infrastructure. It helps millions of companies of all sizes—from startups to Fortune 500s. Collectively, these companies processed more than $817 billion in total volume in 2022. More than 100 companies now handle more than $1 billion in payments with Stripe every year. Of the 100+ category leaders, more than half have grown their revenue 10x while on Stripe.

Stripe supports new business models like direct-to-consumer, subscriptions, marketplaces, and SaaS platforms, optimising cash flow across a business with split funds, global payments routing, and instant payouts. Businesses can access structured financial reporting, build custom queries, pipe Stripe data into data warehouses, get AI-powered assistants to pose natural language questions about their Stripe data, unlock rich business insights, and close the books faster.

Stripe has operated under MACH principles since its founding in 2010. Having seen customers, platforms, and partners become members of the MACH Alliance, the Stripe GTM partnership team led the effort to formally join the community in June 2023. Stripe has enabled service accelerators with partners like Orium for multi-MACH member solutions, and has integrations and connectors to MACH technologies, such as BigCommerce.

Stripe’s role within the community is driven by its mission to grow the GDP of the internet. It’s helped businesses launch and scale quickly by lowering the cost and complexity of starting a business, enabling established businesses to adapt to the internet, reducing barriers to payments, and providing simple, reliable, secure, and developer-friendly APIs and services.

In 2022, Stripe shipped 244 new features and 336 API updates—the majority of which were driven by user feedback. For developers, powerful APIs and detailed documentation enable a “build once, deploy everywhere” approach.

Stripe is continuing to focus on expanding enterprise-grade global payments with new payment methods and omnichannel experiences and helping users integrate more financial services, flexible solutions, and embedded components for multiparty payments and money movement.
