Business impact

The impact of a headless CMS within Icelandair has been substantial. Following a three-week migration, the carrier has seen:

Icelandair
0%

reduction in backlog issues week-over-week

0%

faster delivery rate for translations across 12 languages and 16 locales

0%

reduction in the time it takes to push out promotions

Challenge

After decades of legacy technology, Icelandair realized that they needed to adopt a modern, headless CMS to answer the increasing demand for personalization and omnichannel content delivery.

Strategy

Icelandair launched Digital Labs, a new business development unit, tasked with introducing a digital mindset and culture to Icelandair. Among Digital Labs' tasks was to design, develop, and launch a new website for the airline.

Method

After evaluating 15 content management system options, Icelandair chose Contentstack headless CMS as the preferred vendor. Elsewhere, Icelandair uses Bynder for digital asset management.
