Composable at the Core, Agentic by Design

In the coming weeks, we will set out a bold new chapter for the Alliance - one that builds on our foundations while charting our path into the next horizon of composability.

None of us invented MACH alone. From the start, it was built through collaboration  -  by banding together, working in advance on behalf of the community, and making those elements meaningful in practice.

“The conviction was simple: freedom would come from building systems designed to connect, adapt, and evolve together.” Kelly Goetsch, Co-Founder of the MACH Alliance

I am grateful for the trust you place in this Alliance, and honored to serve you alongside such a talented and committed board.

Our Strongest Allies

Building on what makes us strong will help us meet this next horizon in composability and shape the programs that prepare us for many more to come. This power is clearest in the collaboration we share with our enterprise partners: lighthouse brands that set the pace and Ambassadors who guide the Alliance with their time and insight. In this next phase, we will go further - strengthening community programs, developing new ways to co-create what comes next, and formally bringing these leaders into our governance.

MACH Foundations

MACH has always been more than principles on paper. It represents the foundation of enterprise transformation. Organizations with mature MACH implementations are twice as likely to succeed in deploying AI, and we are just getting started. MACH acts as a bridge between two worlds: the need for stability and trust today, and the demand for adaptability and innovation tomorrow. Composable architectures and open APIs not only future-proof systems, they also create the flexibility for people and organizations to adapt, evolve, and thrive in what comes next. MACH is both practical, providing stability, adaptability, and trust, and visionary, serving as the enabler of the agentic future.

“You can’t leap straight into an agentic future. MACH is the waypoint - the foundation in between - because it provides three things every enterprise needs: stability to build on, adaptability to evolve, and trust to scale.” - Meriel Neighbour, MACH Alliance Ambassador & Director of Technology Delivery and Transformation, River Island.

Our members have told us what brings them value, and enterprises have confirmed it: certification builds trust, training builds skills, membership ensures we win together, and community amplifies our collective voice.

We’ve heard your call for clear perspectives on the evolving AI landscape, and will take an Ambassador-led, vendor-neutral approach. The first of several resources will be our AI Buying Guide, authored by Dylan Valade and Danielle Diliberti, with upcoming coverage on topics such as data sovereignty, MCP and A2A.

The Internet of Agents

We know this much to be true: it will not be one agent running an entire business, but many agents running many parts of a business. And we also know that if vendors try to solve this in isolation, through fragmented approaches, they will fail. The future depends on agents that can work together -  across vendors, across enterprises, as part of a coordinated ecosystem.

The labs may build the models and our hyperscaler partners will advance the frontier of reasoning, but the last mile of operationalizing AI - the 95% of enterprise need - is being pioneered by our members across experience, payments, fulfillment, and beyond.

The AGNTCY white paper “Internet of Agents: An open, interoperable internet for agent-agent and agent-human quantum-safe communication” defines the Internet of Agents as a structure needed because “AI agents were being built in isolated silos, unable to collaborate across organizational boundaries.”

We believe the Internet of Agents will not be owned by a single vendor, but will emerge through ecosystems - collectives of vendors and end users aligned on interoperability and trust. The MACH Alliance will be one of the first to embody this reality. I call on us to lead together as one of the first true Agent Ecosystems.

As we approach MACH X, we will release a Call to Action - a bold step forward for the Alliance. This evolution will feel daunting, just as our original one did - and it should.

Reinventing Together

Every member is earning its place in this new era - some born for it, others reinventing themselves. The role of the Alliance is to harness this momentum and accelerate the incredible work already underway.

Our intent is to shape a clear vision for how this ecosystem must come together - and to champion it with conviction. We will catalyze our members to work in that direction, amplify their pioneering efforts, and build on their breakthroughs. We will partner with our hyperscalers to accelerate scale, and integrate practices and standards from AGNTCY and other collaborators beyond our walls.

Our Commitment

Backed by 100+ members, more than 250,000 employees, and our incredible Ambassadors and community, we are uniquely positioned to make it easier, faster, and safer for enterprises to realize the benefits of composable and agentic architectures.

To move from aspiration to execution, we commit to four priorities:

  1. Aligning our community to achieve live multi-agent, cross-vendor solutions by Spring 2026;
  2. Anchoring in pressing use cases with our end user Ambassadors;
  3. Following, testing, and adopting third-party initiatives where they can inform our thinking and be put into practice;
  4. Investing swiftly as an Alliance in the concepts, standards and certifications required to achieve our vision.

We will track progress hour by hour, not year by year, and we will hold ourselves accountable to evidence, not hype.

Closing

MACH foundations provide the base that makes agentic transformation possible. Through the Agent Ecosystem, we are charting the path - open, interoperable, and proven in practice.

There will be challenges, but we’ve overcome them before. With composability as our foundation, collaboration as our method, and trust as our anchor, we are ready to lead  -  as one Alliance, one ecosystem, one movement.

With gratitude and determination,
