Hello, fellow MACH members, community creators, and the composable curious!
We have exciting news and initiatives to announce as we advance MACH in the AI era within the MACH Alliance. Following the launch of the ‘MACH AI Exchange’ at The Composable Conference in April, we identified strategic opportunities for the Alliance to support the broader community. We've launched the AI Hackathon to capitalize on this momentum ahead of the MACH X Conference in London on October 21-22.
The MACH Alliance recognized the best way to support MACH growth is by developing solutions for the broader community and solving significant challenges to drive adoption. Since 77% of mature MACH organizations utilize AI, it was appropriate to leverage our AI Exchange platform, tapping into their specialized skills, extensive knowledge, and proven expertise to address various use cases. The primary aim of this Hackathon is to develop several production-ready, AI-first solutions that organizations can confidently use to meet their own AI adoption needs. Collaboration for the betterment of the community and mutual learning throughout the process are fundamental to the MACH AI Exchange’s mission.
My name is Kerrigan Baron, founder of Fidget Labs, and I have the great honor to serve as Delivery Lead for this Hackathon. Our teams are collaborating on four different projects to address challenging use cases that many in our MACH communities are currently facing. We are working within a demanding schedule, with a proof-of-concept to be showcased at MACH X in October, and the goal of becoming production-ready by the end of this year.
Over the past several weeks, we have been conducting scoping exercises to develop our AI approach. An advantageous aspect of the time constraint is it encourages teams to leverage AI more broadly across their projects. During scoping sessions, every group utilized AI for various purposes, including task breakdowns, generating suggested resourcing lists, and conducting reasoning checks to validate their strategic approach. All teams have performed exceptionally well and are progressing into Sprint 1 this week.
If you are a House of Brands or multi-brand seller with unique products scattered across separate branded sites, this solution is built for you. We are developing AI-powered solutions focusing on enhancing cross-promotion through personalized AI-driven recommendations. Our goal is to create a simple, seamless experience that avoids disruptive brand site redirects or complex product mapping. You will be able to utilize AI to discover, categorize, and naturally integrate product recommendations within your existing house of brands technology, even if the brands are managed on different underlying platforms.

Everyone is familiar with the challenges of platform migration during a brand’s digital transformation. Tasks such as structured data mapping, new content modeling, content migration updates, and change management for your team often involve a significant amount of tedious work. What if you could leverage AI to analyze your existing infrastructure, offer recommendations for content modeling and documentation in user-friendly formats, and facilitate team education without extensive training sessions? This is the purpose of our migration team: Identifying opportunities to standardize data, reduce manual effort, and explore new possibilities for your website’s growth.

Are you working with traditional retail partners who need user-friendly alternatives to complicated online ordering? This project focuses on developing an innovative interactive AI assistant aimed at transforming B2B wholesale order completion. The primary goal is to create a seamless and intuitive ordering experience through natural, conversational communication, reducing the dependence on dedicated sales representatives. This hackathon project seeks to establish the foundational framework for an AI assistant that redefines B2B wholesale transactions, making them more efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused.

Brand reputation is paramount. A significant challenge for larger retailers is the presence of copycat or scam websites that impersonate your brand, intercept orders, harvest credit card information, and misuse your assets. This leads to complications for both customers and your brand. The challenge? How can you systematically identify these malicious sites and take swift action without dedicating extensive internal resources? AI offers a powerful solution, by proactively detecting and highlighting these fraudulent sites, enabling you to protect your brand integrity and maintain customer confidence at scale.
